ArcGIS is a platform for organizations to create, manage, share, and analyze spatial data. It consists of server components, mobile and desktop applications, and developer tools.

Available for OSU faculty, staff and students on institutional or personally-owned devices or computers for use in education and non-commercial research.

Once you leave OSU, you must remove ALL SITE-LICENSED SOFTWARE from your personal computers.  Any valid licenses on work computers may be transferred to another employee.

Note: A valid Windows operating system is required to run ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS for Desktop, they will not install on a Mac or Linux!

Troubleshooting/FAQ:
  • Trouble getting to the software server: Make sure that the credentials you are using include the ONID\your_username.  If not, you may need to choose more choices or use different credentials in order to do that.
  • Installer not working: Make sure to copy the installer to your own computer before running it, DO NOT double click the installer on the software server itself.
  • Older versions of the software or other ESRI software needed: contact Cory Langhoff at [email protected] for help obtaining those software installers or licensing
  • Need to license with a single user license for use in areas without internet access (i.e., ships at sea or remote field sites):  Refer to the instructions in the single user setup folder in the appropriate ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS for Desktop folder on the software server.
